On Saturday 16th August, artists, musicians and scientists will converge for the very special Spirit of Folk Festival Launch in Whelans of Wexford Street. Festival goers will be able to get a glimpse of the forthcoming festival which runs from 19th – 21st September in Dunderry Park, Co Meath.

The theme of the night is ‘We are made of Star Stuff', a quote from cosmologist Carl Sagan and the focus will be on exploring our potential as people with the aim to inspire people to dream big and have the courage to take action.

The talks will be followed by a musical lineup of acts including Stephen James, Carriages, Leading Armies and Bunoscionn who will be doing a very special performance of ‘Trad side of the Moon’

Now in its 4th year, The Spirit of Folk Festival boasts a programme that includes falconry, astronomy, experimental archeology and a stellar musical lineup. This year, for the first time ever, Spirit of Folk will also be organising tours to local sites such as the Hill of Tara and Sliabh na Callaich to interested festival-goers, making this unique boutique festival a chance to really immerse yourself in Ireland’s rich folk heritage and experience the magic of the Spirit of Folk!

The Spirit of Festival Launch takes place on the 16th of August at Whelans of Wexford Street.
