Spirit of Folk ends festival season with an inspiring and original array of activities.

Shortlisted in 2011 for ‘Best New Festival’ in the European Festival awards, Spirit of Folk returns this September 21st-23rd with a unique slant on the traditional Irish camping festival. The festival prides itself on it’s well defined niche, and promises to celebrate the harvest season in style amongst the stunning backdrop of Dunderry Park, Co. Meath.

Spirit of Folk Festival officially launches and announces new acts to the bill!

Festival organisers Natasha and Emily Duffy have officially launched the second year of the Spirit of Folk Festival and announced over a dozen new acts to the line-up. The festival will return to the lush surrounds of Dunderry Park, Co. Meath from September 21-23, and looks to build on the success of last year to create an original, intimate, and inspiring event.

Calling all budding Filmmakers!

Spirit of Folk Festival, now in its second year, runs from Fri 21st-Sun 23rd September in Dunderry Park, Co. Meath. The festival is all about family friendly fun to a background of falconry,archery, history, storytelling, astronomy and music ranging from chilled folk singer-songwriters to upbeat, expansive folk-rock, blugrass and traditional.

This year Spirit of Folk will be running FILM FOLKUS, a competition for filmmakers to show off their talent and leave their creative mark!

Experimental Video Blogging!

Some of you may remember our wonderful Experimental Archaeology area from last year... well people enjoyed it so much that we've brought it back for 2012! 
So Bust and Bust decided they needed to check in with, history guru, Bren O'Neill and see what he had planned for us this year and to remind us what exactly Experimental Archaeology is all about.

Those of you who attended Spirit of Folk 2012, may already be acquainted with Bust and Bust, as they entertained the masses as hosts of our Hall of Heroes. Well, finding something constructive for them to do in the run up to the Festival has been difficult... luckily for us, they've got something planned.

Memories of 2011...

So here we are, mere months away from this year’s Spirit of Folk and while we’ve been busy making sure that the festival this year is bigger and better than the last, we’ve maybe been a little lazy regarding the Blog... But No More! Over the coming weeks, we’ve got some wonderful things in store for those of you paying attention.

We have been quiet on the social media front because we have been busy behind the scenes getting an awesome lineup of music, storytelling and speakers together for your enjoyment!

We are delighted with the amount of submissions we received and even though we could not accommodate everyone that applied we would encourage people to come down and participate anyway.

So here we are two weeks after the initial tickets launch and, well, were just about recovered! A big thanks to The Hot Sprockets, The Young Folk, Bunoscionn, TRAZ and the infamous Mr. Benny for having us dance well into the early hours!
