Cúig, formed in late 2011, are now one of the most promising artists on the Irish traditional music scene. They incorporate Breton, Galician and American bluegrass tunes into their music that is already steeped in the Irish tradition. There innovative and exciting sound has entertained audiences throughout Ireland and throughout Europe. Previous performances include Les CeltiCimes Festival in the French Alps alongside Flook and at the world famous Balver Höhle Irish Folk Festival, Germany. The band has also performed on national TV for TG4’S “Fleadh Live” programme, which was broadcasted to over 1.2million people, and on BBC Radio Ulster radio on numerous occasions.
Recently the band released their self-titled EP to critical acclaim.
